Senator Bob Gordon and Dennis Culnan, Jr. Named to Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill’s Transition Task Force

PRINCETON, NJ, Dec. 3, 2025 – Former New Jersey Senator Bob Gordon and Dennis Culnan, Jr., Vice Presidents of Stevens & Lee Public Affairs, have been named to Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill’s Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force, which focuses on bringing local input to gubernatorial transition efforts.

The Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force comprises a diverse group of representatives from across New Jersey’s community and economic sectors, from labor and business to health care, education, environment and more. Task Force members provide insights and recommendations to Governor-Elect Sherrill and her action teams on the implementation of the gubernatorial agenda and its impact on New Jerseyans. 

Senator Gordon is a former New Jersey state senator, utility commissioner, transportation policy maker and corporate management consultant. He served in the New Jersey Legislature for 14 years, first as an Assemblyman followed by 10 years in the State Senate representing the 38th District (Bergen/Passaic) where he was the Senate Majority Conference Leader. Nominated by Governor Phil Murphy and confirmed by the New Jersey Senate in 2018, Senator Gordon served a five-year term as a Commissioner of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, where he was intimately involved in developing policy regarding key renewable energy that paved the way for the state to become a national leader in growing energy sectors. He also served on the Board of the New Jersey Transit Corporation. Before joining the Legislature, Senator Gordon was Mayor and Council Member of the Borough of Fair Lawn.

Mr. Culnan has deep ties to the Garden State’s transportation and energy sectors and more than 20 years of experience executing public affairs strategy and coordinating major projects through the collaboration of public authorities and private entities. As a business leader, he was previously the Deputy Manager of Siemens AG’s RegioSprinter North American Light Rail, for which he led key proposal efforts and secured approval through scores of local, state and federal government regulatory agencies and bureaucracy. In the public sector, Mr. Culnan served in top management roles for more than a decade at the South Jersey Transportation Authority, including as its Deputy Executive Director, Chief of Staff, Director of Business Administration and Deputy Director of Finance. He currently serves as CEO of the New Jersey Association for Clean and Renewable Energy (NJACRE), which advocates for Renewable Natural Gas, Hydrogen Gas and Energy storage systems.
