Anthony J. “Skip” Cimino Garners NJ ASPA’s New Jersey Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award

PRINCETON, NJ, May 18, 2023 – Anthony J. “Skip” Cimino, Senior Managing Director of Stevens & Lee Public Affairs, has been honored by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (NJ ASPA) with the New Jersey Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey, on May 17, 2023.

An NJ ASPA committee has distinguished Mr. Cimino for his contributions to the field of public service and his decades-long personal and professional dedication to New Jersey public life. NJ ASPA is devoted to advancing excellence in public service, developing innovative solutions to the challenges of governance and creating collaboration opportunities between public and non-profit professionals.

Mr. Cimino is a business executive, long-time government leader and former elected public official with more than three decades of experience working with the New Jersey state legislature and executive branch.

Mr. Cimino has served in chief executive and other leadership roles for a number of significant New Jersey institutions. He was President and CEO of RWJ Hamilton, an acute care hospital with more than 1,800 employees; President and Chief Administrative officer of CMX Engineering, the successor firm to the multi-state engineering firm Schoor DePalma; and he served on the Board of Directors of Spiezle Architectural Group and First Bank.

In New Jersey’s public sector, Mr. Cimino was most recently Executive Director to the New Jersey General Assembly Majority Office, advising the Speaker and leadership on policy, research and outreach program efforts. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assemblyman of the 14th Legislative District for the State of New Jersey, worked on the gubernatorial transition teams for Governor McGreevey and Governor Florio, and was Commissioner of Personnel on Governor Florio’s Cabinet.

Mr. Cimino has also led many non-profit, philanthropic and community organizations focused on the region’s economic advancement and well-being, including Greater Trenton, the Princeton Area Community Foundation, the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, the Independent College Fund Foundation of New Jersey, and the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey, among others.

Mr. Cimino earned a B.A. from Providence College.
